Independence Day。1776年7月４日アメリカが独立を宣言した。この独立という事の意味は
第三国の干渉を認めないという国家としての意思表明であったわけだ。われわれが英語を
学んだ教科書はJack and Bettyと言ったようなかすかな記憶がある。その中にアメリカの独
立記念日の記事があったように思う。

毛虫取りは苦。リンゴの摘果のついでに手作業でした。しかし、手が出せないほど仰々しく恐
ろしげな毛虫もいる。毛虫取りも状況に合わせざるを得ない。毛虫の防護服は今も有効だ。
二句あり。
The hairy caterpillar collecting is pain. It was manual labor in an occasion of fruit thinning
of the apple. However,some hairy caterpillars are exaggerated fearfulｌｙ so as not to be
able to catch them by a hand. I cannot but match the hairy caterpillar collecting with the

中段の和文でYhooの和文英訳を使ってみた。何となく意味は通じそうだ。ついでに句も。

恐ろしい：fearful
WEB 翻訳も辞書も使い方次第のようだ。翻訳エンジンも意味解析をしている筈だ。当然辞
書も含んでいる筈だ。余り利口になりすぎると時には困る事も出て来そうだ。貴社の記者が
汽車で帰社した（The reporter of your company returned to the office
by a train.）。この訳ならほぼ問題ないと思われる。ついでに少しお遊び。
汽車で帰社した貴社の記者はしぶちんです。⇒Reporter はしぶちんです of your company
which returned to the office by a train（しぶちんが辞書にない？）
きしゃのきしゃがきしゃできしゃした。⇒きしゃのきしゃがきしゃできしゃした.（これにはびっく
り：オーム返しで翻訳してくれない。単語を区別して認識できず一つの単語と認識している？）
きしゃ の きしゃ が きしゃ で きしゃ した。⇒きしゃのきしゃがきしゃできしゃした.（わ
かちがきしても同じ結果）
きしゃ⇒きしゃ（ひらがな辞書が無いようだ：漢字を入れれば単語でも翻訳する）
